The ideal multi-platform KVM switch with four simultaneous IP sessions
The CX QUAD IP is based on the CX IP Matrix series. This guarantees a high level of quality and compatibility across multiple server hardware and software platforms.
High-performance IP access
CX Quad IP allows one local user plus four global users (located anywhere that has a network/internet connection) to view and take full control of multiple host computer systems. Each global user simply requires a Real VNC client application which is supplied on CD and can also be downloaded from various locations, even from the CX Quad IP unit itself. Alternatively, the unit can quickly serve a Java applet to a global user, requiring only a standard internet browser to operate. The IP engine supports resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 at 60Hz to ensure there is enough power to allow smooth KVM over IP control. The console can also support 1920x1200 @60Hz in half-width mode on the IP ports.
High-performance local KVM console
The CX QUAD IP is provided with an independent high performance local KVM console connection that supports USB keyboards and mice and high quality video. That way you can use USB keyboards and mice to control your computers in the server room or IP connections to access systems from elsewhere. An OSD function also makes setup and control of the CX simple. In combination with a RS-232/V.24 power switch you get even a complete hard reboot function.
High Compatibility and flexible infrastructure
Like all models within the highly successful CX family, this unit takes full advantage of CAT5/5e/6 structured cabling to provide flexible installation and configuration. Every connected computer is linked by up to ten metres of standard CATx cable and one of five types of SAM (Server Access Module) according to the port arrangements on each computer. The CX Quad IP can directly support up to sixteen computers, however, this total can be increased to a maximum of 256 by adding CX UNO units in cascade to provide a much larger network of controlled computers. All CX models provide full enterprise level security to restrict access to authorized personnel.
Small form factor
Less than half the width of a standard 19" mountable device, the CX Quad IP supports via cascade up to 32 servers and eight IP sessions in 1U of rack space. Together with a KVM drawer like the ServView, it is an ideal solution for dense server rack environments with IP-based remote control options.
Power Management
The CX Quad IP has a power control port that enables a remote user to reset one or more power switches in the host system. Plus, dual power connectors enable the CX to draw power from its included wallmount adapter or from an optional redundant power supply if there's a power failure."
Integration into Wizard.Net
The CX QUAD IP is compatible with Wizard.Net enterprise management software and integrates nicely with CX UNO IP, CX IP, Wizard DXS and Wizard IP installations. A copy of the WIZARD.NET application is included within the package. This useful utility allows you to quickly and efficiently manage user groups and their access permissions across multiple devices. Optional power switch control allows you to remotely perform a hard reset on any host system, no matter how badly it may have locked up.
Integration with 19” KVM rack drawers
The CX Quad IP as well as the CX Uno and CX UNO IP will be available as slide-in-modules for the KVM drawers KVT127E and KVT517E from Black BOX. Thus you will get KVM switching plus a KVM console with keyboard, touchpad and 17” monitor in just 1U!
